Full Job Description

Rethinking education, helping tomorrow's citizens flourish.

We seek an experienced teacher of Physics who is able to shape and lead this popular area of our curriculum. We are keen to hear from talented middle leaders looking to extend their experience, and outstanding, ambitious teachers seeking their first middle leadership post.

Physics is a popular subject within our sixth form - we currently have 80 students studying A Level - however, we will be looking for the successful candidate to advise and steer developments across all phases, driving academic outcomes and performance in the subject. Please see our supporting document for more information about our Physics department.

The successful candidate will motivate and inspire both staff and students, demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills, and be committed to inclusion and the well-being of every young person. Importantly, they will also have strong subject knowledge.

We will have high expectations of you to be an outstanding role model committed to the distinctive ethos of our School, where we strive for academic excellence, underpinned by character education.

In return, we can offer:

  • A commitment to your continued professional development within school, using additional training days to enhance and develop teaching pedagogy

  • Opportunities to contribute to teacher training and our well-established Physics network

  • 3 days per year dedicated to your own research or professional learning

  • Access to world-class resources, research and people through our partnership with the University of Birmingham

  • Excellent support and guidance for ECTs where applicable

  • Involvement in our exciting timetabled enrichment programme

  • Visits to school are welcomed; please contact Katie Tennant on to arrange this.
