Full Job Description

The North West School of Radiology (NWSOR) in conjunction with the North West Imaging Academy is seeking applications for Consultant Leads to work on two areas of educational development for the Academies.,

  • General Radiology - teaching and curriculum development for general radiology topics for both postgraduate radiology training and multi-professional imaging groups eg reporting radiographers.
  • Digital Education - supporting development of cloud based imaging databases and online learning platforms, to support utilisation and embedding into teaching and assessment delivery.
  • The post holders will have some teaching commitments as part of the 1PA sessional role . This will need to be set as a pre-agreed 'Academy Day' prior to appointment to support rotational timetabling. Travel to our regional Academy sites is expected and required for all of our posts. All mileage and incurred expenses are reimbursed.,
  • Maintain and contribute to CIMAR database
  • Pre-agreed nominated academy teaching day prior to appointment
  • Responsible for curriculum coverage and delivery of all specialty specific sessions in the ST1 and ST2 academy
  • Update curriculum once set up including yearly review
  • Liaise with specialty specific colleagues within the region for teaching sessions and create common specialty specific tutor group across the NW training sites
  • Advise multi-professional imaging practice for NWIA
  • Co-ordinate teaching with programme support team
  • Bi yearly - meeting performance review with Academy Director/AHoS/HoS
  • Yearly Appraisal and Educator MSF
  • Attend yearly academy development day meeting
  • The post holder will work collaboratively with Academy Director, Head of School, North West Imaging Academy Operational Group, TPDs and Programme Support to support robust operational delivery of the Academy within the NW School of Radiology., NHS England hold a Sponsor Licence; this means that we may be able to sponsor you providing the Home Office requirements are met. To be eligible for sponsorship through the Skilled Worker route you'll usually need to be paid the 'standard' salary rate of at least £38,700 per year, or the 'going rate' for your job, whichever is higher.
