We are currently hiring for a Full Time Supervisor/Team Lead in our Portsmouth, NH location. Bring your passion for the outdoors and we will do the rest!, Purpose: Eastern Mountain Sports Supervisors are responsible for delivering consistent, positive Customer experiences within their store to profitability grow top line sales by Building Talent, Building Capability, Building the Brand, and Providing Personal Leadership within their department(s).
Supervisors are accountable for both the results and how results are achieved within their store - they do this by assisting the Store Manager and Assistant Manager in all store activities. Supervisors must focus on both the details of retail management and the results of retail management. They seek to strengthen and inspire customers' and associates' relationship and connection with Eastern Mountain Sports and the outdoors.
Responsibilities
+ Assist Store Manager with the recruitment and hiring of knowledgeable, friendly, customer service oriented outdoor enthusiasts.
+ Assist Store Manager with the orientation, training, coaching, development, and supervision of a team that exceeds our customer's expectations and inspires them to frequently visit our stores and buy our products.
+ Encourage a team focus by contributing to a positive and rewarding atmosphere where people want to work as well as empowering, reward, and hold associates accountable for achieving 100% customer satisfaction.
+ Support and align the team with the store, and company programs and initiatives.
+ Deliver Customer-centric experiences and support an atmosphere that brings customers into the store.
+ Maintain a clean, neat, and shoppable store.
+ Contribute to the visual aspects of the store by maintaining a dynamic merchandising strategy with an emphasis on presentation, space allocation, sale promotions, and floor sets.
+ Teach and coach associates to respond to and resolve all customer concerns in a manner that increases customer loyalty.
+ Lead by example by providing excellent Customer Service, and holding all associates accountable for ensuring current customer service standards are executed by all associates.
+ Promote and sustain the Eastern Mountain Sports stores Culture.
+ Open and close the store as needed while participating in the store alarm call rotation.
+ One or more years of retail and customer service experience, preferably a supervisor role with an outdoor or specialty store.
+ An Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a business-related field is required.
+ Experience with computers, POS systems, retail store systems, and e-mail.
+ Effective communication with diverse individuals and groups in writing and verbally (in person, using telephone systems, task management software, and via e-mail). Always know the audience and communicate professionally with them
+ Use your own initiative and be able to prioritize and organize work
+ Build and maintain lasting relationships with store and home office associates, vendors and customers
+ Demonstrate integrity, respect for individuals and ethical behavior
+ Continually learn about the Eastern Mountain Sports customer
+ Use EMS product frequently for personal testing and enjoyment
+ Work productively and flexibly in a fast-changing, demanding environment
Physical Requirements: Vision, speech, and hearing. Bending, lifting, carrying required for movement of merchandise fixtures and signage. Lift and carry up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Climb ladders and stepstools. Push and pull buckets, rolling racks, and fixtures. Operate various equipment - office and hand tools requiring manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination (perform various computer keyboard functions). Able to work 8-40 hours per week (based on employment classification and business needs) including nights, weekends, and holidays - flexible availability is required.
