Full Job Description

Caterpillar IT is looking for a Supervisor Team Lead to partner with our Caterpillar Defense business, supporting manufacturing, engineering global supply chain, finance and the digital operations team to enable their strategic growth. You will provide leadership in the development and support of the application suite, including the QAD, Siemens and Microsoft Digital platforms. You will be customer facing working directly with the business team to build relationships, understand business objectives and aligning IT resources and programs of work to them. You will become part of a high-performing team focused on the delivery of key business opportunities within an exciting business segment at Caterpillar. As part of the organization, you will be working as an IT Supervisor managing a team for onsite applications and liaising with global IT teams and third parties to ensure the overall IT needs of the customer are met. This is an exciting opportunity as the organisation looks to grow capability in support of new product ranges, looking for ways to exploit technology to deliver business process changes and risk mitigation. What you Will Do

  • Lead a small team that provides support for approximately 15 site specific applications
  • Be accountable for the business relationship for broader IT functions, responding to customer inquiries related to system enhancements, problems, and information requests
  • Identify business requirements from customer groups to shape and scope IT projects. Work with internal groups, third parties etc. to meet stated requirements aligned to clear business outcomes.
  • Govern the IT annual spend, gather and provide costs for project execution and ongoing costs for support
  • Socialise and validate proposed solutions with business partners and Enterprise Architects where required
  • Act as a stakeholder to oversee the delivery of projects through the Software Development Lifecycle, working with project managers, analysts, delivery partners, testers, and business leads. Manage product lifecycle for applications to ensure compliance regarding technology and security.
  • Management of an IT Financial Business plan

    Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.
  • Talent Management: Knowledge of the critical competencies required to achieve intended results; ability to generate consistent approaches for hiring, selection, retaining and leveraging talent across the organization.
  • Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
  • Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks
  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyse and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or
