If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!, We are seeking a dynamic Computer Science Teaching Technologist (CSTT) to join our Engineering Faculty. The successful candidate will work within our Teaching Technologist Team to support project-based learning, helping students to develop new technologies and encouraging innovative teaching practices.

As the CSTT, you'll advise on coding, physical computing, and technical development, facilitating creative practice and providing essential tools. Collaborate with academics to enhance teaching, manage resources and project spaces, and design cutting-edge software and hardware. Engage with students and faculty, contribute to departmental activities, and stay at the forefront of technological advancements in Computer Science.

What will you be doing?

  • You will shape the way the Faculty supports students' project-based learning and their experiences in using new technologies.

  • You will work to support leading academics to develop and enable novel and practically grounded teaching practices.

  • You will support the day to day operation of the Computer Science Project Space.

  • You will exercise initiative and pragmatism to help bring ambitious ideas to life. The role is part operational delivery of specialist support to both undergraduate and postgraduate taught students, and part strategic direction and creative design of complex teaching methods to support Bristol's academic programme delivery.

    You're a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and innovative individual with experience in managing a practical space and working with a team of specialists.

  • You would relish the opportunity to help develop the next generation of engineers.

  • You have experience of financial planning and monitoring budgets.

  • You have demonstrable technical specialism and competence in either current or past in a science, engineering or discipline.

  • You have experience of managing continuous improvement of self and others.
