Full Job Description

Sitting within the Student Journey team, the Lifecycle Events Manager is a key member of the Divisional Management team and is responsible for ensuring that the University's largest events are successfully planned, delivered and evaluated. This includes leading a team and inputting into the strategic direction of student event and engagement activity within the Education and Student Success Division.

The postholder is responsible for developing and improving the quality of events, ensuring they are relevant and accessible to targeted audiences. They will use data extensively to ensure that all activities are evaluated and adjusted to create the best possible return for the University both financially and reputationally.

What will you be doing?

You will lead on the planning, delivery and evaluation of some of the University's most visible and significant events. You will be responsible for the organisation and successful execution of a large programme of Graduations throughout the year including the management of key, senior stakeholders.

You will oversee strategic direction and management of student registration events, including collection of University ID cards and completion of student document checks.

You will also be responsible for divisional policy and processes surrounding our student ambassadors, working closely with colleagues to ensure the efficient and effective management of our 500+ pool of ambassadors.

As well as existing lifecycle events such as Graduation and Registration, you will work with colleagues across Student Journey to formulate and implement events to help improve the student experience.

You will oversee the above while leading a small, high-performing team of around five members of staff and prudently managing a significant events budget.

  • You are a strong public speaker, able to present to a wider range of audiences.

  • You have experience working with tact and discretion, managing sensitive issues in confidence with professionalism.
