Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to promote a positive relationship between the University and the local community. You will lead a small team providing the primary university point of contact for the community. You will take a lead on activities that educate and engage students around community living behavioural expectations. You will also be responsible for responding to and investigating complaints regarding student misconduct in the community, and working with the Student Resolution Service to engage the University's disciplinary procedure where appropriate.

Collaborating with colleagues in the Accommodation Office, Central Communications team and the Students' Union, you will support students with the transition from living in halls of residence to independent living in the community, working with external partners such as the Police, the Local Authority, and Residents' Associations to promote student community cohesion.

What will you be doing?

You will investigate, respond to, and escalate complaints received regarding student community misconduct, e.g., excess noise and other forms of inconsiderate behaviour. You will also develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, local community groups and strategic city partners. You will work with colleagues and partner organisations to develop and implement strategic communications and activities that proactively support students' transition, experience and integration with the local community.

You should have excellent written and verbal communications and experience of handling complaints.

You should possess good IT and customer service skills, excellent attention to detail and have experience of working with young people or students in an advisory/support capacity.
