This exciting new role will create, manage, and deliver the commercial and operational strategy for the Events and Staff Residential Lettings teams within the Venues & Events department, through overseeing all activity undertaken by the Team Managers for their responsible areas. The role holder will ensure customer service and income generation are aligned to benefit the University through delivering value from commercial activity. The role holder will set and monitor the budgets and objectives for their teams to ensure continual improvement and growth.

What will you be doing?

As an income generating department, you will work with your Team Managers and their teams to ensure revenue generating opportunities are captured through event enquiries and tenant applications. With a key focus on customer service, you will ensure that your teams are highly skilled, providing excellent levels of customer service and have a sharp focus on customer satisfaction and quality of service.

You will ensure the properties and venues offered to our customers and tenants are safe and of a great standard, through working with colleagues across the University to engage in and deliver projects to maintain and upgrade.

Working with the Head of Department, you will be instrumental in contributing to the departmental business plan and working with your Team Managers to generate appropriate plans to deliver on KPI's and objectives.

Through analysing customer feedback, looking at trends and identifying opportunities, you will develop new service concepts and strategies to elevate the customer offering, to benefit the growth of revenue streams and customer satisfaction.

You have extensive experience of managing revenue generating teams in a customer facing events and/or property letting environment and have operational experience within those areas.

You are a confident communicator, with an excellent level of IT literacy and the ability to create and translate plans into realistic achievable objectives.

As a commercial management professional, you will have a demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience of managing and working with budgets, financial planning and providing accurate reporting on financial and statistical data from your teams.

As a person that has the ability to be flexible with their working location on campus, as well as the ability to oversee a 7-day operation, you will be required to be on-call support for your teams, and support them in-person during peak periods. This will include being a holder of a UK current manual driving licence, that has been held for at least two years; as the use of the departmental or your own vehicle will be required when travelling between campuses and locations.
