Full Job Description

We are looking for a well-organised, confident and proactive administrator with strong organisation and interpersonal skills join the Faculty of Arts Postgraduate Research (PGR) Admissions team. The successful candidate will be a core part of our small team based on Woodland Road (Bristol) to provide administrative and operational support to applicants and colleagues looking to undertake a research programme with the Faculty of Arts.What will you be doing?

  • Administer all procedures and processes relating to the application and admissions process for PGR students, ensuring applicants receive a high-quality customer service.
  • Ensure that all prospective and current postgraduate students are supported, working with postgraduate student administrators to manage student transition from applicant to registered student.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to queries from prospective students by email, telephone and in person, and act as the first point of contact for prospective students.
  • Deal with queries on behalf of senior managers, including more complex queries, judging when to forward or involve others; raise issues of concern where necessary to ensure resolution of problems.
  • Use and understand central databases and information systems (such as SiTS, PG EVAetc.) to gather information, undertake and manage processes and to respond to queries.
  • Assist with funding processes for new scholarships, collate applications, help arrange interviews, assist with notifying successful applicants.

    You are an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, able to prioritise your own work and manage changing priorities as part of a diverse, busy workload.
  • You like to be busy and have proven administrative experience working in demanding environments.
  • You are able to work autonomously, sometimes with little supervision, responding independently and dealing with unforeseen problems and circumstances.
  • You have excellent organisational skills along with flexibility and initiative.
