Full Job Description
- Conduct assessments of suppliers operation processes, procedures and performance in an unequivocal way, along with assessing their capacity and capabilities.
- Establish and maintain a Supplier Monitoring programme based on a business risk assessment approach.
- Identify improvement opportunities and develop supplier improvement plans to address identified weaknesses, providing status reports to both supplier and MLS management, following up on agreed actions to ensure they have been implemented effectively. Monitor the Quality of product output from key strategic suppliers to establish that they meet the required standards. Responsibilities:
- Visiting supplier facilities and observing the manufacturing environment to review and assess their procedures and working practices.
- Performing regular quality control audits and full capability assessments to ensure vendors continue to work in compliance with their company and country specific standards.
- Provide clear and concise reports on a Suppliers capability and communicate any recommended actions.
- Develop and maintain a supplier Audit schedule based on risk methodology to cover a global supply base.
- Monitor suppliers performance and provide feedback to management on any areas of concern.
- Provide input into supplier procurement specifications to ensure project and business requirements are flowed down as appropriate to suppliers.
- Conduct configuration audits and First Article acceptance of supplied items prior to release to ensure supplied goods meet the defined specification.
- Maintaining detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates and areas that result in defects.
- Provide support to procurement to define the supplier quality metrics.
- Providing technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates.
- Serving as a liaison between our company's senior management and the suppliers to identify quality issues and come up with solutions.
- Generate and maintain a Company Supplier Quality handbook to provide visibility to suppliers of the company requirements for doing business. Tasks:
- Generate a business top level supplier assessment programme.
- Generate and maintain a supplier quality handbook.
- Plan and conduct audits on suppliers against Quality and Environmental business aspects.
- Conduct audits on a produced product against the company's specification and processes.
- Interpret engineering drawings and test documentation.
- Analysis and present data.
- Generate audit reports and action plans.
- Read and understand requirement documents.
Working collaboratively with Internal and External stakeholders - Ability to travel globally and represent the company.
- Have good listening skills to enable interpretation of information and situations Maintain a professional approach to issues and problems.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills with strong attention to detail., Lead Auditor trained in ISO9001 is desirable, Internal Auditor trained in Quality and Environmental Management standards is essential.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems is essential. ¡ Working knowledge of Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel and Visio are essential.
- Knowledge and experience of Quality assessment and continuous improvement tools is essential.
- Understanding and experience of preventative techniques such as Sampling, Pareto, FMEA, SPC etc. is essential.
- Knowledge of coating applications and appropriate process controls
- Knowledge of manufacturing process controls associated with Electro-mechanical products including welding. Education:
- Engineering or Logistics based degree is desirable.
- A qualified auditor to ISO9001 and ISO14001 Experience:
- Broad depth of knowledge of manufacturing processes required to produce Electromechanical products and associated components.
- Experience of Defence or regulated based products is desirable.
- Proven record of conducting assessments and audits is essential.
- Excellent statistical analysis and quality assurance skills.
- Have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Additional local needs This role will be supporting the business development on a global platform therefore ability to travel is essential.
