Full Job Description

Provide leadership in developing strategies to enhance the overall quality and on time delivery of incoming product through supplier management and development. Serves as a leader and a resource regarding supplier quality issues, problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.,

  • Implements supplier scorecard to measure suppliers on critical characteristics, reviewing scorecards with suppliers and working with non-performing supplier organizations to rectify and improve OTD as well as quality issues (e.g., via risk management and quality improvement plans).
  • Initiates Corrective Action Report management and resolution via utilizing iQMS and attending regional CAB meetings.
  • Is responsible for vendor as well as manufacturer setup process and is part of global Vendor Survey team.
  • Supports business with day to day needs and resolutions on the quality Help Desk. The Engineer also supports local quality organization and acts as part of the escalation ladder.
  • Leads process assessments/audits, recommends improvements, and monitors implementation of changes.
  • Leads efforts to drive improvement in supplier quality and on time delivery through implementation of supplier improvement strategies.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive procedures and policies to measure and ensure supplier performance.
  • Develops and executes comprehensive supplier audit plan.
  • Reviews capability and capacity of supplier and informs management of significant gaps.
  • Promotes design for manufacturability by working with Product Engineering and suppliers.
  • Responsible for key internal quality metrics (Supplier OTD, and Quality).
  • Leads efforts required to develop, implement, and verify manufacturing control systems at suppliers.
  • Implements quality improvement activities with supply chain.
  • Develops supplier certification program to select, evaluate, monitor and de-select suppliers
  • Maintains Self Release program via monthly monitoring of all self-release suppliers and communication of low performance to suppliers. Also helps constant search for new eligible vendors for self-release.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    4-6 years of related work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or purchasing, preferably within aerospace industry
  • Experienced with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally, and a high team spirit.
  • Self-motivated, goal-orientated with a high level of energy
  • Quality audit experience
  • Lean principles experience
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Education: bachelor's degree - Engineering, Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field of study
  • 6-8 years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of AS9100/9120 Standards
  • Internal and/or External Auditing training/qualifications
  • Travel:
  • This position requires traveling up to 50% of the time.
