Full Job Description

  • Gain a good understanding of our material and critical supplier services that supports our business areas
  • Take ownership of the planning, scoping, scenario building and testing of the exit strategies that we have for our material and critical supplier services
  • Play a role in the pre-contract supplier risk process, ensuring our stakeholders understand, identify, and manage the risks of doing business with suppliers
  • Work with the respective Business area service owners to deep dive the exit strategies in place
  • Utilise knowledge of the financial regulatory environment, the latest regulations that impact financial organisations (e.g. PRA, FCA, EBA) and how they relate to operational resilience and continuity
  • Support the business areas in identifying and assessing the supplier risk exposure of the service engagements
  • Complete supplier due diligence in conjunction with other risk SME colleagues (e.g. InfoSec, Data Privacy, BCM, Architecture, Compliance)
  • Create and look after after high quality data, artefacts and reports to support supplier risk activities
  • Manage and track priorities and business expectations by balancing urgent/important activities and communicating effectively to stakeholders
  • Build long term relationships with colleagues
  • Support the Lead Supplier Risk Manager

  • Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders
  • Knowledge of supplier risks and controls, especially focused on operational resiliency of third party services

    Experience working with colleagues at all levels and getting colleagues excited about supplier risk and/or operational resiliency
  • Strong people skills, with the gravitas to support and influence colleagues at all levels
  • Confidence managing changing priorities, tight deadlines, and stakeholder relationships
  • Exceptional influencing, written and verbal communication skills - this role involves articulating complex issues in a clear, concise way and bringing detailed analysis and recommendations to life
  • Be a team player whilst being an independent and self-starter
  • You don't need to have worked in a Bank previously - we would still love to hear from you, however financial services experience would be considered advantageous
