An opportunity has arisen for a well-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Supplies Receipts and Distribution Team at Mid-Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust.
The successful applicant will become a member of the Supplies Department taking a flexible approach in helping to provide an efficient stock management and Receipts & Distribution function to the Mid Cheshire Hospital Trust, and other trusts as appropriate., A supply chain related background is important and applicants must be IT literate as the role makes use of various computerised systems for the managing of stock. The applicant will be working as part of a team communicating with trust staff at all levels, suppliers and other companies or organizations both face to face and via the telephone to ensure that the service is maintained at all times. Supply issues will need to be resolved quickly and efficiently ensuring the minimum disruption to the wards and departments.
The job role is varied with duties including receiving, checking and receipting stock within the Receipts and Distribution Centre and managing stock on wards and departments using computerized stock control systems.
The Receipts and Distribution is a busy department providing an efficient and cost effective Materials Management and goods receipting function to wards and departments within the trust. The ability to work safely as part of a team and accurately to deadlines is essential.
The department is open 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 4pm on a Friday.
The position will be a permanent 37.5 hours covering Monday to Friday.
If this sounds like the role for you, please apply now or contact us for further information., To be part of a team providing a Materials Management service to wards and clinical departments within the trust and by taking sole responsibility for the management of specific wards or departments to ensure efficiency, cost effectiveness and availability of supplies. This is achieved by monitoring stock using computerized stock control systems taking into account historical demand, immediate requirements, lead times, price advantages, availability and deadlines.
1. Ordering stock as and when required taking into account historical demand, requirements, lead times, deadlines current stock availability and price advantages.
2. To provide a safe, efficient and effective receipting function for non-stock deliveries in accordance with Trust policies and procedures ensuring that all standards and deadlines are met and that all the trusts record requirements are maintained.
3. To sign for receipt of goods, checking consignments for damage, contamination and accuracy ensuring that items are received in a safe and efficient manner
4. To check receipted items for accuracy; if correct pass for payment using the trust computerized finance system where applicable, if not correct to liaise with trust staff and suppliers to ensure that the issue is resolved to the satisfaction of the trust.
5. Ensure discrepancies returns and repairs are progressed in accordance with Trust standards and to the satisfaction of the trust.
6. Liaise with trust departments, external suppliers and couriers to ensure goods are dispatched from the trust to external companies promptly and efficiently
7. Ensure correct documentation is completed and maintained by the department.
8. To arrange for the distribution of goods to all wards & departments in a safe and timely manner observing Trust policies, procedures, Safe Systems of Working, COSHH regulations, health and safety requirements and ensuring safe and correct use of equipment.
9. To provide a customer services function to relevant trusts providing guidance, advice, requisition inputting and discrepancy reporting ensuring that trust policies, procedures and deadlines are met.
10. To assist in planning and to be responsible for implementation of foreseeable changes in demand, for example changes made to delivery schedules during bank holiday periods.
11. Effectively communicate changes in delivery schedules to service users.
12. To communicate with companies, suppliers and staff within the relevant Trusts to ensure that an efficient and relevant service is provided at all times.
13. To ensure that security and integrity is maintained both within the Receipts & Distribution centre and within all other areas of the Trust.
14. To assist in the gathering and compilation of statistical information.
15. To provide support to the RDC Manager in his/her absence.
16. To provide guidance and training to new or less experienced staff
17. To undertake any other duties as and when required.
