Training, development, and support for you Over the course of this 12-month programme, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in hands-on learning, working on real-world challenges that directly impact the energy industry. Most of your learning will be on the job, supported by your mentor and the teams around you. You'll have a chance to apply your academic training to genuine industry problems while completing modules that contribute towards your degree. You'll gain in-depth experience within a Supply Chain department at a nuclear power plant or within a major construction project . You'll learn about systems vital to the smooth operation of Supply Chain, including safety protocols, technical governance, quality assurance, analysis, communication strategies, and IT systems. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to see how other departments function , expanding your understanding of the broader industry. During your placement, you could be involved in projects that focus on improving safety through communication campaigns and training initiatives, developing advanced analytical methods to optimise Supply Chain performance or taking part in negotiating and preparing contractors for major projects and enhancing overall operations. The key roles of the Supply Chain teams are: Commercial Delivery teams

  • Attend and minute Supplier Performance and Risk Reduction meetings, Updating and raising communications within the contract management systems (CEMAR), Receipting completed works (SAP), Maintaining the Contract Workspace (Teamcenter), Updating commercial reporting tools and contract terms and conditions.

  • The Client Team works to support the activities of the Commercial Delivery Teams by capturing and tracking actions, Supporting the analysis of data through the design and maintenance of reporting dashboards using PowerBI and similar tools, working to improve communications throughout the team by maintaining intranet pages and coordinating "lunchtime learning" sessions, Supporting the team in the delivery of improvements to ways of working, supporting meetings with key stakeholders like the Office for Nuclear Regulation, and ensuring accurate minutes of meetings and actions are captured, and engaging in activities related to risk management., For an idea of the type of work you could do, recent students have supported the development of the Supply Chain's data strategy, created automated reporting using PowerBI to support Executive and Board reporting, enhanced insight in Supplier Relationship Management, supported with Regulatory engagement and helped deliver strategic and people updates. You'll also get great exposure to the whole team, a good understanding of the contract lifecycle, complex contractual interfaces, and the opportunity to network and develop stakeholder management and commercial and contractual skills.

    We are looking for candidates who are on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Geography, Sciences or Supply Chain. You should possess strong technical and analytical skills, along with a genuine desire to learn and develop new capabilities. A questioning attitude, good teamwork, and effective communication skills are also essential qualities we seek.
