Full Job Description

As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will have a role that is out of the ordinary. Directly supporting the United Kingdom's Royal Navy Submarines, dealing directly with Ministry of Defence (MoD) and United States Department of Defense stakeholders, with the ability to influence future policy for the logistics support of the Dreadnought Class of Submarines. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for working closely with United Kingdom and United States supply chain subject matter experts, under the guidance of the Mission Systems Supply Chain Manager and you will play a vital part in the development of the Common Missile Compartment (CMC) logistics and supply chain through-life support solution.

  • Assisting in development of the Dreadnought Strategic Weapons inventory management strategy.
  • Ensuring the migration of data into the In-Service logistics data repository / tools.
  • Supporting the development of the Packaging Handling Storage & Transportation (PHS&T) strategy.
  • Conducting reviews of plans, process, policies, and programmes ensuring optimisation of processes to meet the UK platform delivery and support schedules.
  • This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home. You must be able/willing to travel if required to support our customer.

    Essential experience of the Supply Chain Specialist
  • Good understanding of the UK Submarine and support enterprise operations in relation to logistics and Supply Chain management,
  • Recent Supply Chain experience of working with or as part of MoD / Royal Navy / Contractor authorities,
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end life cycle management of submarine support,
  • An understanding of the joint UK / US Department of Defence, through life support programmes,
  • Awareness of Ministry of Defence technical documentation to include but not limited to Defence Standards, Books of Reference (BRs), Joint Services Procedures (JSPs).
  • Awareness of the UK MoD Base Inventory Systems.
  • Qualifications for the Supply Chain Specialist
  • Qualified to minimum of HND (or equivalent discipline) in Supply Chain Management or an equivalent discipline (STEM qualifications will also be considered). Supporting experience in lieu of formal education will be considered.
  • Membership of or actively working towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation (CILT), as part of continuous professional development.
  • Security Clearance The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
