Full Job Description

As one of our Supply Planners you'll support the Supply Chain Planning and Purchasing team with wide ranging activities to resolve supplier capacity constraints for cars in current production and those approaching launch and into volume production. Coordinating with a range of people internally and externally such as the Vehicle Planning & Scheduling teams, Manufacturing and Global Sales & Planning teams as well as external Suppliers, Buyers and STA engineers, in this role you will analyse multiple data sets in order to extract plans and forecasts from JLR systems. You will then coordinate the capacity verification and the uplift of activities, end of vehicle line (run out) studies, and mass communications to internal / external customers. Supporting the Supplier Capacity Planning activities for 0-24 months volume requirements on a carline or platform, you'll follow through on diverse actions identified to ensure the correct capacity is installed in the supply base and suppliers' confirmation is received back from the supply base so that JLR can support short- and medium-term demand changes. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze any appropriate information and data, and undertake calculations to estimate gaps in supplier capacity versus build and unconstrained demand, delivering plans to close these gaps
  • Continually monitor changes in demand and supply, reconcile variances from original plans, and maintain a view of actual against forecast projections
  • Facilitating various governance forums covering 0-24 months' timeline identifying the agenda items for capacity constraint resolution meetings.
  • As required, communicate the data to the supply base, coordinate and report the response
  • Supporting transformational activities with new Supply Chain Systems, including data validation and process review

Understanding of demand / supply planning activities across multiple operational units
  • Knowledge and experience in using manual and automated MRP systems (SAP and, or others)
  • Strong numeracy, statistical and reporting skills with the ability to analyze, interpret and manage information, data and trends
  • Experience of programme management, and or strong organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to others
  • Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work. Some roles require more on-site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage.
