Full Job Description

Mitie is looking for an experienced and proactive Supply Supervisor to lead a team of operatives within our Hard Services department. This role involves acting as the first point of contact for clients and team members, ensuring the effective delivery of services, and maintaining high standards of customer care and delivery of the planned and reactive help desk maintenance, including taskings and coordination with the Projects Team for delivery works., Based at RAF Mildenhall, working primarily in a storeroom environment, the post holder will be a versatile customer focused Stores Supervisor, with the drive to provide a first-class service to the Armed Forces. The incumbent will lead a small team effectively and be versatile in controlling stored items to ensure optimum availability to the engineers serving the military community on site., Provide leadership and supervision to a team of operatives covering all aspects of building maintenance and repairs.

-Line management responsibility for their team including coaching, mentoring, and develop of team members and their develpoment to reach their full potential, providing necessary support.

-Carrying out Performance Reviews on immediate reports in accordance with the Contract programme.

-Ensuring Performance Management is introduced and annual targets are met.

-Hold regular meetings with staff to ensure they are aware of business priorities. Also to ensure all staff are fully briefed and updated on all operational issues. Record all feedback on operational issues and communicate them to senior management.

-Ensure all planned and reactive works are scheduled, planned, delivered, and updated on management systems in line with contract requirements and customer expectations, carried out to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

-Conduct setting to work briefings, workplace inspections, quality assurance checks, and monitor and supervise work in progress through team operations.

-Collaborate with the planning and help desk teams to schedule all tasks, ensuring efficient use of resources for optimum performance.

-Deliver regular team briefs, conduct toolbox talks, and engage with the workforce to address and escalate issues proactively.

-Participate in training and appraisal activities as required by the business.

-Assist with and have a good understanding of building maintenance, testing, and fault-finding in accordance with JSP375.

-Co-operating with Quality Assurance to implement any observations raised during quality audits carried out by the Authority or the Company.

-Commitment to developing self and others. -Assist in coordinating and reviewing all reports under your control to ensure timely inclusion within the Client Monthly Report within the agreed timescale and to the required format / content.

-Take timely action to mitigate risk and the potential for service failure.

-Report all incidents, accidents, near misses, and non-compliant or unsafe conditions promptly using the Mitie reporting system (ECO Online).

-Actively adhere to a safe working culture and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures, processes, and the law. ensure that the requirements of COSHH, Health and Safety at Work and Environmental Legislation are always complied with.

-Ensure all activities are carried out in full compliance with current Health and Safety Regulations and the General Data Protection Regulations.

-Act as the first point of contact for clients and team members, addressing and resolving day-to-day issues related to delivery, quality, environmental concerns, and resource management.

-Proactively handle client queries, providing feedback and escalating issues as necessary in a timely manner.

-Identify and agree on appropriate safe systems of work, promptly preparing the necessary documentation in accordance with legislative, client, and Mitie requirements.

-Provide regular progress updates, resolve issues, forecast needs, and ensure timely completion of tasks.

-Perform workplace audits and assurance checks.

-Liaise with DIO Team to ensure quality and value of works and commitment of resources.

-Support management with reasonable requests and undertake additional duties in line with capabilities.

-Develop positive, supportive working relationships with the team and Mitie colleagues.

-Maintain stock levels of specialist stores and clothing and carrying out stocktaking to ensure compliance checks are completed correctly.

-Act as the lead Subject Matter Expert for all stores services, whether it be clothing stores, general stores, or receipt and despatch, promoting best practice, and delivering the contracted requirement to the appropriate quality standard and the agreed service levels, including the completion of internal checks, controls, and compliance auditing.

-Ensure deliveries are unloaded from vehicles safely and effectively, goods are unpacked, reviewed against invoices for discrepancies, stock replenished, and records updated.

-Develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders, promoting customer service excellence.

-Undertake any additional tasks as determined by the Line Manager, including leading on change to meet the emerging needs of the business and authorised Public Events.

-Identify and implement innovative solutions to meet the emerging demands of the business within contractual boundaries.

The successful candidate is required to be well-organised, precise, confident with credible communication skills readily able and willing to contribute at all levels. In addition, the individual will be versatile, intuitive, and professional with good judgement and absolute integrity. Proactive and persuasive when required and responsive to changing needs of the business and demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated, the incumbent will be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of MITIE company values., Experience in maintenance, testing, and fault-finding on a variety of systems would be SSSTS or SMSTS Qualifications or similar desirable. beneficial but not essential.

-Good understanding JSP375 and safe operating procedures.

-MEWP for manager would be beneficial but not essential.

-Temporary Works Coordinator training.

-Preferred but not essential: time served in relevant position as a supervisor or lead technician.

-Good standard of education, preferably to NVQ Level 5 or equivalent preferably grade C or equivalent in English and Mathematics.

-Holds a Full UK Driving Licence and Forklift Licence (desirable) (Forklift training can be provided)

Skills and Competencies:

-Management experience with good organisational and motivational skills and a high degree of integrity.

-Persuasive and credible verbal and written communicator with the ability to develop close working relationships.

-Proactive approach and the ability to embrace and lead on change.

-Management level knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, regulations and practices. IOSH managing safely is desirable but not essential.

-Proven experience of working in a warehouse/store's environment.

-IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications.

-Proven track record of delivering with excellent customer care and communication skills and experience.

-Ability to adapt to short notice changes to requirements and deadlines.

-Occasional local travel to work at other sites to provide absence cover as necessary.

-Conversant/knowledge of MOD Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) stores accounting applications (Desirable, training can be provided)

-Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

-Proactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.

-Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

-Proficient in using Maximo or similar.
