Supply Teaching Assistant

We are seeking flexible and dedicated Teaching Assistants for ad hoc day-to-day work to support our students when staff absences arise. This is an excellent opportunity for those who are passionate about working with children with special educational needs and are looking for flexible working hours. Main Responsibilities

• Deliver individualised support in lessons in the absence of regular staff.
• Follow lesson plans and care routines provided by the class teacher.
• Provide support with personal care, communication, and sensory needs.
• Manage challenging behaviour in a calm and patient manner.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff members.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
  
  Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs.
• Ability to adapt quickly and follow instructions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.
• Flexibility to work on a day-to-day basis.
Desirable Criteria
• Experience in a special school setting.
• Training in communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, or sensory integration strategies.
