Full Job Description

As part of a strategic move, we are expanding our first-line IT service desk team and adding a supervisor post. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow as a team lead and you will have the full support of experienced managers for training and guidance. The candidate we're looking for has a generalist approach to IT; you're not afraid to troubleshoot issues in web applications, desktop applications, laptops, desktops, printers, you name it. Comfortable taking phone calls and speaking to service users, you will be a key part of the IT service desk team, whilst also making sure the rotas are planned and new systems are understood., Equality remains at the centre of our policymaking, service delivery, and employment practice, giving all employees equal opportunity to develop, apply for promotions, and have working arrangements that enable them to achieve a manageable work-life balance. UHS actively promotes a work environment free from harassment and discrimination and provides training for managers and staff to ensure this happens. We also closely monitor recruitment activity, training, development, and employment practices to ensure equality of practice with regard to race, colour, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, gender, sexual orientation, disability, marital status and age.

  • Experience in people management/supervision
  • Writing IT technical knowledge in simple plain English
  • Demonstratable ability to solve complex problems
  • Experience in presenting material to a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage own workload when faced with conflicting priorities

    Working for our organisation
