Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and compassionate Support Time and Recovery Worker, ideally with community and older adult experience, to work within the Memory Assessment Service Bolton. As a Support Time and Recovery Worker, you will work directly with service users and their carers to support and empower them to engage in post diagnostic activities and maintain independence. You will establish therapeutic relationships to identify and achieve their goals, this will assist our service users and carers to gain access to a range of community resources and services for support and education on living well with Dementia. You will work closely with he MDT to meet the individual needs of service users, visiting people at their own home as required and will work under supervision from the occupational therapists in the team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills with the support of the wider MDT and Leadership Team. There will be opportunities to develop skills in therapeutic, evidence-based interventions for service users with dementia and also complex physical health needs. You will learn the role of each member of the team and be allowed the opportunity to work autonomously within your role under the guidance of the team. Applicants are expected to have an understanding of how to communicate with individuals who experience cognitive problems and must have patience and compassion, you should have an interest in older adult mental health.,

  • To establish and maintain positive therapeutic relationships with service users and their carers.
  • To establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues within the memory assessment service.
  • To work under the direct supervision of Registered OT's, Registered Nurses and the team consultant.
  • To contribute to MDT meetings.
  • To support the nurses in the assessment clinics.
  • To undertake home visits for interventions.
  • To promote and encourage independence and engagement within the local community.
