Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Support worker to join the Forensic Psychiatry Community Service on a full time permanent basis.

The post-holder will provide ongoing support, therapeutic interventions when agreed, practical assistance and problem resolution, under the supervision of a senior team member, to users of the Forensic Psychiatry Service., The post-holder will work with service users and the multi disciplinary team in an enthusiastic and conscientious way to ensure the delivery of high quality recovery focused care and support.

The role will require a real desire and ability to engage with service users in a confident, compassionate and non-judgemental manner, with a primary focus of enabling recovery, well-being and independence.

The service works with adults with diagnoses of mental health conditions and/or learning disability who present with a risk of significant harm to others, to achieve optimal management of risk and minimize re-offending. The service adopts a compassionate and trauma informed approach to promote relapse prevention and recovery, so enabling individuals to realise their full potential and support them to continue to live and build meaningful lives in the community.

You will be joining an experienced team of professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, support workers, administrators) who all share a passion and drive for delivering high quality care and treatment to service users with Forensic histories.

The service runs 7 days a week (8am till 8pm), excluding bank holidays, and will include shift work on a rotational basis.
