Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for 2 passionate Support Workers to join the CAMHS Complex Needs Team in Tower Hamlets. The post holders will work in local communities with children and young people experiencing complex mental health difficulties, alongside their care coordinators. You will need to be able to engage young people experience mental health difficulties, and their families. You will need well developed caring, compassionate and thoughtful risk assessment and management skills, be able to work closely and flexibly with young people and their families in a variety of locations, often in their own homes, and have the skills to work independently in a community setting. An understanding, interest and appreciation of the needs of the diverse community in Tower Hamlets will be important and the ability to work in a culturally informed way is essential.

The post holder will work with other members of the multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of high-quality assessment and treatment interventions for young people in CNT - under the direct and indirect supervision of a registered professional. This will involve joint and lone working.

In particular, support workers will be supporting young people to re-engage with life outside the home, driven by what is important to them- for example, education, leisure, and community life. Many of the young people the team works with have their functioning significantly impacted and need close support to improve their activities of daily living.

The post holders will have an awareness of risk management techniques, as well as a clear understanding of escalation protocols. They will utilise skills to be able to creatively deliver interventions to a diverse population, working in a culturally sensitive way - maintaining a good knowledge of local resources to support young people to reintegrate into the community.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
