Are you looking to take the next step in your career? We are hiring Support Workers for our Supported Living services in West Yorkshire.

  • Full UK driving licence and access to vehicle is preferred for this role.


  • At 1st Choice Housing Solutions, we are looking for support staff to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis to support Young People in Supported Accommodation within West Yorkshire (Bradford, Shipley, Keighley and Halifax).

    We offer support to care leavers and unaccompanied Asylum seeker children (UASC), your role is to help prepare them for independence.We want to ensure the best experience of transition to adulthood, to empower young people to become as independent, self-reliant and confident as possible.

    We have the below vacancies:

    - Full-time/Part-time Support Worker- Providing support within semi-independent supported living accommodation, this is typically a 24-hour shift, following a 2 day off, 1 day on pattern.

    - Full-time/Part-time Outreach support worker - Providing supervised contact and outreach support, this is typically activity based.

    Responsibilities

    As a Support Worker for Young People, your main duties may include but are not limited to:

    · Assist and support young people to develop their independent living skills e.g., budgeting, shopping, meal preparation, cleaning, bills, preparing CVs for job applications, and more.

    · Uphold duty of care and Safeguarding, as a trusted member of staff, you will be expected to take reasonable steps to ensure the safety and well-being of young people. All employees have a duty to keep young people safe and to protect them from any type of harm and/or abuse.

    · Collaborate directly with social workers and other health professionals to ensure comprehensive support for young individuals.

    · Engage with organisations and community services to help young people access a range of services, including health, education, employment, advocacy, and training opportunities

    · Provide personalised and high-quality support to meet the individual needs of young people, including social, cultural, emotional, and physical needs.

    As a Support Worker, it is desired that you have:

    · NVQ Level 3 qualification relevant to working with young people

    · Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner

    · Social work qualifications or equivalent are also valued

    · Experience with working with Children and Young people
