Full Job Description

Brief Description: We are looking for someone to work alongside our client in a radio station environment and assist him with his daily duties. We are looking for someone responsible, outgoing, confident, hardworking and someone that has the willingness to learn and be apart of a team.

This position requires candidates to be flexible with hours and work with client and be in the office when required or work remotely when it is possible. Candidate will however be required to be in London at minimum for 2 hours a day Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities: Radio Studio assistance: Setting up the studio and ensuring all equipment is prepared for recording sessions. Configuring and positioning microphones correctly for the producer and contributors. Checking the mixing desk setup, ensuring it is configured appropriately for recording sessions. Ensuring all settings on the mixing desk are at their correct default positions. Assisting with the operation of accessible systems such as the RCS Play system and Zetta. Preparing content, including music, recorded scripts, and presenter links.

Content Preparation and Editing: Assisting with multitrack editing and mixing of the final show ready for broadcast. Checking audio levels and balance between music and presenter voice, particularly where systems are inaccessible to the producer.

Outside Broadcast Setup: Conducting health and safety risk assessments of recording locations. Evaluating locations for sound quality suitability. Providing sighted guiding around the location as needed. Troubleshooting recording equipment, including checking for error messages and ensuring proper function of indicator lights on devices.

Proofing and Document Layout: Assisting with the proofing and checking layout of written documentation. Ensuring documents meet standards for layout, spacing, use of headings, images, and font sizes suitable for both sighted and low-vision audiences.

Meetings and Events Support: Assisting with meeting and greeting duties at departmental staff meetings, conferences, and exhibitions. Providing support during these events to ensure smooth operation and accessibility for the producer.

Helping with researching and creating written content for shows this includes: Writing, researching and putting together material for producer to present and record.

Qualifications and Skills: Technical proficiency with radio studio equipment and software, particularly RCS Play system and Zetta (training can be provided)

Experience with audio editing and mixing (this is essential)

Ability to conduct risk assessments and evaluate environments for suitability.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Proficient with Microsoft, excel and word docs.

Exceptional time keeping.

Compassionate and patient.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Sensitivity to the needs of individuals with disabilities.

Willingness to work in an environment with guide dogs being present within the workplace.

Experience in sighted guiding is desirable but not essential (training can be provided).
