Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a 1 year fixed term maternity cover. This is an all year round position working 31.5 hours per week.

Conewood Children's Centre is an Islington run Nursery with a vibrantly diverse community of staff and children. We are a trauma informed centre invested in understanding young children's brains with a curriculum underpinned by the Loving Pedagogy. We cater for children 6 months to 4 years old.
The position requires an individual who has an ability to work with kindness, empathy and compassion towards young children and understands the importance of learning in the Early Years.

Islington is a place rich with diversity and culture. As a council our sense of purpose couldn't be clearer: we serve. It's in the logo. We are committed to challenging inequality in the borough and as one of the largest employers we know that to look after the place and the planet, we have to look after our people. Together we can change the future.

We are determined to create a more equal Islington, where everyone who lives here has an equal chance to thrive.

To do this, everyone who works at Islington Council lives by a set of values which guide us in everything that we do: collaborative, ambitious, resourceful, and empowering. They spell out 'CARE', which is what we think public service is all about.

Watch our video to hear more about our mission and how you can help us achieve it from the Leader of the Council, Cllr Kaya Comer-Schwartz.
