We are open Monday to Friday 9.00-4.30 and provide all aspects of the physical and emotional support to maintain health and wellbeing.

This includes personal care, administering of medication and providing activities that promote self-worth and promote maximum inclusion with a person-centred approach that allows the customer to be involved in their own daily planning.

You will need to be positive and approachable and be part of a team that is flexible and reactive to change and challenging situations. You will be responsible for maintaining your own level of skills and competency by keeping up to date with mandatory council training available to you. We want our customers to have a day with us that meets their needs but is also happy and beneficial to them and allows them to feel they have contributed and are a part of our team, you will be expected to constantly promote this and find creative ways to achieve it.

Wigan Council has been voted 'Overall Council of the Year' at the APSE (Association for Public Service Excellence) Awards. We are signed up to the Greater Manchester Continuous Service Commitment ensuring that your service will be continuous or 'unbroken' between the supporting organisations.

We are a day centre based in the heart of leigh that prides itself on its modern, positive approach. We have recently undergone renovations, and our environment and garden are bright and modern and are maintained with support by the customers themselves. We provide links to the community that benefit our customers and allow them to achieve personal goals and upkeep hobbies and interests

We have good carer connections and want aim to support them as much as the customers that attend.

At Etherstone we appear to have lots of fun with singing and dancing but underneath there are cognitive and physical benefits for our customers.
