Full Job Description

Are you patient, creative, and passionate about making a real difference in someone's life? If so, we'd love to have you join our team in Derby as a Support Worker for two incredible gentlemen. Who Will You Be Supporting? You'll be working with two quiet and reserved gentlemen with learning disabilities and autism. Both are very active and love getting out and about. Though they use limited words to communicate, they make their needs known through expressions and gestures. Here's a bit more about them:

  • Active Lifestyle: They love hitting the gym, enjoying holidays, listening to rock music, and shopping at charity shops.
  • Social Activities: They enjoy dining out, taking trips, and attending appointments.
  • Advocacy: You'll work in partnership to help these individuals navigate their daily lives, from planning new activities to advocating respectfully on their behalf.
  • What Will You Be Doing? As a Support Worker, your role will be varied, exciting, and rewarding. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Empowering Independence: Provide personal care and assistance with daily routines, encouraging the gentlemen to lead fulfilling and active lives.
  • Planning Activities: Use your creativity to plan engaging activities, whether it's a trip to the gym, exploring charity shops, or going on a holiday.
  • Advocacy: Respectfully advocate on their behalf, ensuring they feel supported in making choices about their own lives.
  • Daily Living Support: Assist with meal prep, medication administration, and ensuring they are safe and supported at all times.
  • Building Relationships: Establish strong connections with the gentlemen and their families, ensuring open communication and a respectful environment.

    Mon-Wed: 2pm-10am the following day (Includes Sleep-In Shift)
  • Thur-Sun: 9:30am -10am the following day (Includes Sleep-In Shift)
  • Day Shift: 9:30am-5pm
