Full Job Description

Are you kind and compassionate? Do you have a passion for empowering people to lead an aspiring life? Being an Active Prospects support worker is about supporting people to lead 'a gloriously ordinary life' full of opportunity, fun and the achievement of personal goals and aspirations. The role can be tough, but the rewards outweigh!
We are looking for a Support Worker to support a 28-year-old man who loves walking, swimming, playing in his garden, stopping at a café for a spot of people watching and lots of other fun activities. He has a great sense of humour, an infectious laugh and an independent spirit. We are looking for an active, good humoured and calm support worker who can encourage him to achieve his full potential, keep up with him on his long walks and have some fun along the way!
The young gentleman has autism, epilepsy and a severe learning disability and needs an experienced, assertive, individual who is able to provide the consistent support outlined in his support plan and who is confident lone working. You will need to be adaptable, flexible, mature and be able to support him to further develop his independence through empowerment, active support, positive risk-taking and out of the box thinking. It's important to note that, when distressed, he may have anxiety or on occasion show behaviours of concern so PBS or ABA experience would be highly desirable.
His home is close to public transport, within a short walk from the bus stop and train station. There is also free onsite parking available. He has his own car for support workers to use to take him out and about (clean driving licence required).
Come and join our award-winning company! Active Prospects recently won the Employer of the Year Award at the Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards 2024. We were also awarded with the UKs Best Workplaces 2023 by Great Places to Work UK! Our training team has won many national and regional awards and is viewed as outstanding by our colleagues.
Following our most recent national award the judges' comments were 'a very inspirational business that aims high to deliver excellence in all areas and supports people to lead aspiring lives. A strong family feel where staff are rewarded, valued and supported to maximise their potential. Staff see opportunity which is harnessed to incredible effect. The businesses passion and ambition shone through making them worthy winners.'
In return for your dedicated service you can expect a competitive rate of pay of £12.50 per hour with additional pay on some of the Bank holidays, enhanced pay when you leave to have a baby (maternal, paternal or adoption), Employee Assistance programme with various aspects of free legal support and counselling, support with gaining further qualifications in Social Care (levels 3 and 5), career progression opportunities which have seen 80% of our management progress into their current roles since they've started with us as Support Workers, financial awards for successful recruitment referrals and most importantly inclusive, friendly and supportive environment for you to grow and thrive in. Active Prospects has an amazing Induction Programme which ensures that all our employees receive classroom and on the job training and support to prepare them within their new roles.
