Full-time position available, shift pattern is a long day of 07:30am - 19:30pm and short days of 07:30am - 13:30pm, 13:30 - 19:30pm and a twilight shift of 17:00pm - 23:00pm.. Do you have a passion for enabling vulnerable people to live the life they choose? If so, we would love to hear from you. Our service is located in 17 acres of beautiful countryside in Copthorne, West Sussex. We actively involve its service users in their local community, where they take part in a wide range of activities using local resources. Care Assistant, Support Worker or similar experience is desirable but not essential. We offer an excellent training and induction programme for everyone! As a Support Worker with Leonard Cheshire you will become part of a fantastic team. Every day is different, but here are just some of the duties you will do:

  • Assistance with daily life tasks including personal care, medication and mealtimes.
  • Escort and assist in and around the service, at external events and appointments.
  • Supporting our Person Centred approach, encouraging maximum independence for our customers and helping to achieve individual aspirations.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate records.

    Have good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Work flexibly and creatively with customers and their families.
  • Ideally have personal care experience (not essential).
  • Be able to work under pressure and as a team.
  • Flexibility to work within rostered hours / prepared to participate in an on-call rota where required., Disability Confident

  • A night enhancement of £1.50 per hour will apply from 8pm to 7am Monday - Sunday (this does not apply to sleep-ins). A weekend day enhancement of £2.00 per hour will be paid from 7am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday.
