Full Job Description

We are recruiting a team of passionate and committed Support Workers to join our BRAND NEW SUPPORTED LIVING SERVICE in The Uplands, Swansea. We have 16 hour and 19 hour part time, permanent positions available. This service needs to be staffed 24/7 so you will be required to work various shift patterns including days, evenings, weekends, and sleep in shifts as part of a rolling rota. Day shifts are typically split between 7am-11pm, with sleeps ins as extra.

  • Due to the needs of the individuals we support in this service, a full UK manual driving licence is required If you would like the opportunity to work with some truly amazing people please read on….., This brand new service will be the home of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with these incredible individuals to support with day to day independence, enhance their various skills and support them with daily activities as well as providing emotional support
  • The service promotes the importance of the "do with and not do for" approach and has had a very positive impact on these incredible individuals. The individuals we support have different personalities with different likes and hobbies. You could be joining the people we support in going on long walks in the countryside, dancing to music, watching films, and going out and about in the community or to visit loved ones. By being part of this team, you would play an influential role in enabling the people we support to lead fulfilling and independent lives and see first-hand how you make a difference to them. You will be expected to support with daily aspects of living, including:
  • Medication administration
  • Cooking skills and other household skills
  • Some personal care needs
  • Accessing the community and supporting to local groups
  • Supporting with individuals' hobbies and activities such as walking/hiking
  • Being a team player and having good communication skills
  • Completing relevant paperwork to a high standard
  • Supporting individuals to budget finances
  • Providing companionship to the people we support through talking about their interests and wellbeing
  • Having fun by encouraging the supported individuals to take part in activities that enhance their life skills and promote independence
  • Encouraging and supporting with cleaning and administrative duties
  • Being able to bring fresh ideas to the team and implement different ways of working
  • Supporting Individuals with their individual needs
  • Complete sleep ins as part of your rota.
  • Work in line with the needs of the people we support
  • Take the people we support out and about therefore a full manual driving licence is essential for this role

    A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. More important are;

  • An hourly rate of £12.15 making the annual salary £23,376 (FTE)
