Support Worker - Barry (West Aberthaw) - Full-time, 40.25 Hours a Week - Hourly Rate: £11.60 - £12.00 - Annual Location Allowance: £1,500

Your Role as a Support Worker for Adults with Autism:
As a Support Worker, you will play a critical role in delivering hands-on support and care, focusing on each individuals unique needs and personal growth. This includes helping them build independence, social skills, and self-esteem, while fostering a safe, welcoming environment where they can thrive.
About Ty Carreg:
Located in West Aberthaw near the seaside town of Barry, Ty Carreg is a specialist facility for twelve adults with autism, aged 18 and above. Set in beautifully converted stone barns, Ty Carreg offers both self-contained apartments and shared living spaces, all designed to support the diverse needs of our individuals. Here, as a Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in making Ty Carreg a true home for our individuals, fostering a sense of belonging and independence.
A Day in the Life of a Support Worker at Ty Carreg Includes:
- Providing Personalised Care: You will ensure each individuals physical, emotional, and social needs are met with respect and sensitivity, creating a supportive environment.
- Encouraging Participation: Support individuals in engaging with recreational activities, community outings, and daily social interactions to strengthen their confidence and enjoyment.
- Building Independence: Promote self-esteem and independence, encouraging each individuals to reach personal milestones and celebrate achievements.
- Tailoring Support Plans: Work closely with each individual to develop care plans that are responsive to their unique needs and preference
- Documenting Daily Progress: Keep accurate records of each individuals daily activities, development, and any notable events.
- Supporting Daily Living: Help with household tasks like meal preparation and light housekeeping, creating a warm and welcoming home atmosphere.
