Full Job Description

I am a 54 year old male who has a degenerative condition where I am wheelchair bound and I need assistant with moving around the home. Looking for a honest person who is good company and easy going but also respects someones personal space, who can care for me 1 week out of 4 to live with me for that week but available to cover the other PA if needed. Manual handling will be involved as I require help to move from chair to bed/seat and with having the lack of strength you will need to assist me to change my position when in bed. I do also need help with feeding and persoanl care including showers and going to the toilet. When I sleep I rely on my non-invasive CPAP ventilator where you will be responsible to help ensure this is fully working and cleaning of the masks and changing of the filters but guidance will be given on how to do this. You will also be needed to do household chores. When you are staying with me for your working week you will have your own room and the times will be flexible through out the day depending on my needs but it will be a total of 12 hours per day and the night time can vary slightly.   • Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
  • Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
  • Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
  • Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
  • Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
  • Support with gardening.
  • Only candidates aged 18 or over should apply for this position as you will be required to work for more than 48 hours per week. The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required. You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.
