Full Job Description
As a 1-1 Support Worker main duties and responsibilities will include: · To be a member of a staff team providing support, advice and guidance to people we support. · To keep written records relevant to people we support, ensuring observations and recordings are up to date, that support plans are implemented and that information received from all staff working with people we support are appropriately recorded. · To ensure any significant changes in the behaviour and disposition of people we support are brought to the attention of the senior member of staff on duty. · To support when necessary with all aspects of personal hygiene including for those day service users with high dependency needs requiring personal care. · To participate in any necessary training identified by Aspens. · To contribute to internal reviews and case reviews on people we support and produce written reports. · To be a member of the team of staff providing activities and support for those accessing day services at Aspens and to maintain positive working relationships with support. · To fully implement the policies and procedures of Aspens and ensure that all-recording systems are completed accurately on a regular basis. · To maintain all appropriate written records, including support plans, handover books and daily observations, ensuring a smooth flow of information to facilitate good communication within the day services staff team. · To ensure people we support are always treated with respect and receive the highest possible standards of care and service from the staff of Aspens. · To follow the Health and Safety policies and procedures of Aspens. · To maintain a professional relationship with people we support and colleagues at all times and to undertake allocated duties in a correct manner. · To participate in supervision sessions as required. · To participate in team meetings as required
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Tutor/Senior Support Worker to support individuals to participate in sessions. - NVQ L2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this qualification
- Completion of the Care Certificate, or willingness to work towards this Desirable Training and Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards Essential Experience and Knowledge: · Experience working with people with learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions or experience in a similar environment that will have provided the skills needed to support vulnerable adults Desirable Experience and Knowledge:
- Previous experience of working within a residential/ supported living service or similar environment
- Previous experience of lone working as well as working within a team
- Previous experience of working with individuals that display behaviours of concern Essential Skills and Attributes:
- A caring personality with a drive to help others
- A positive 'can-do' attitude with good problem-solving skills
- A calm, friendly and patient nature
- A team worker with good communication skills
- A Trustworthy individual with good listening skills and the ability to show empathy
- Good English and Maths Skills
- Good working knowledge of IT Desirable Skills and Attributes:
- Working knowledge of an electronic system as such SharePoint to manage timesheets etc
- Driving Licence and/or access to your own transport
- Possession of a transferrable Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate
