Full Job Description
We are seeking a caring individual to provide 1:1 support to a wonderful young man in his mid-20s, supporting him to live his best life. This gentleman lives in a house on a quiet cul-de-sac, complete with a small garden and free parking. He thrives with support from someone who is engaging, encouraging, and kind-hearted.
He is a social and fun-loving person who enjoys chatting about music, soaps, and pop culture-he will happily hold a conversation for hours! Some of his favourite activities include trips to the cinema, enjoying meals out, bowling, and swimming. While no expert swimming skills are required, you will need to join him in the water for his swim sessions.
Maintaining relationships with family and friends is also important to him, so you will play a role in developing these relationships professionally and respectfully. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve offering light personal care such as prompting after a bath, assisting with creams and inhalers, and preparing meals while encouraging independence. You will also provide encouragement to be present in his local community.
You will work on a rota basis, with shifts typically running from 7:30 AM to 10:30 PM. Sleep-ins are required, and shifts include alternate weekends and bank holidays on rotation. While having a full UK/EU driving license and access to a car is preferred, it is not essential.
