Support Worker-AMU

The AMU support worker is pivotal in supporting the flow on AMU. Main duties include transferring patients to receiving wards, clear communication with staff, ensuring the ward is topped up with essential equipment, having a good understanding of manual handling procedures and respecting the privacy and dignity of the patients at all times.,

• Transferring patient to the receiving medical wards.
• clean trolley's/ beds following transfers and change linen ready for the next patient.
• Restock IV trolley's, resuscitation trolley and dressing trolley's in clinical areas as necessary.
• Check portal oxygen cylinder's daily and request / change new cylinder's when empty.
• Restock the clean utility room, using clinical stock from central store on AMU.
• Under the direction and supervision of a senior nurse check the electrical equipment is on charge.
• Ensure ward is kept tidy by removing rubbish and clutter as required.
