Hours per week:
10 hours in total. Very important is 6 hours on a Friday, from 9.30am - 3.30pm.
Monday or Tuesday 4 hours 10am-2pm.
Hourly pay rate:
£15.00 plus petrol allowance
Our daughter is special needs, she cannot read or write, and she is not aware of
dangers around her. She has moderate to severe hearing loss. Our daughter can
have mood swings at times and needs repetition throughout the day. She likes to
be independent, but in this she needs a lot of support, patience and
encouragement. Our daughter does not like to be rushed and does not like to be
bossed around. So, patience and understanding are a must.
Her hobbies are Football, and she likes anything to do with horses, loves
shopping, charity shops. Not clothes shops but practical shopping. She loves
looking at DVDs, music, cooking and going to the cinema.
Once she gets to know you, she is a chatterbox (but she can repeat herself a lot)
and she can be a laugh/funny.
Your role will include:
Prompting her to have the appropriate clothes for what she is doing that day.
Brushing her hair and making sure she has done it properly. Having her bus pass
and also her own money in her bag, ready for the day.
She is wearing her hearing aids also and must have them, as sometimes she will
try to get away with not wearing them.
When our daughter wants to cook at home and cleaning up afterwards.
To encourage her to clean her room and make her bed.
Help with practical everyday skills, she needs prompting.
She can be very sociable when she is in the right mood, but finds it hard to
express herself, as her vocabulary is limited but is open when the family
environment and people she knows are around.
Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Hygienic, tidy and well organised
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Honest and cheerful
Creative
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
