Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Standish, Wigan As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you'll play a vital role in their life. This particular individual is looking for team members who are into a little bit of everything, from going swimming every week, Attending Bikes for all, going to the theatre to see a show, going to discos, going out on road trips in his vehicle, so much more - he has boundless levels of energy and is keen to engage in new things often. Over the last year he has been on an incredible journey of self development, he has moved to a new home, developed his confidence and self esteem massively and he is keen to continue this journey. When it comes to his ideal team member he feels most comfortable and confident when you are able to form a relationship with the rest of his team, team cohesion is vital as he has really good bonds with his current team He has bags of humour and loves nothing more than to have a good laugh and a joke with his support staff. · A genuine passion for supporting others. · Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships. · Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. · A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities. This role requires you to be a driver where possible All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
