Support Worker - No experience required

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities and autism? We're looking for caring, patient, and empathetic individuals to join our team of Support Workers in Winnersh. You'll be working across three vibrant support services, helping individuals live full, active, and independent lives. Who Will You Be Supporting? Home 1: You'll support two young men in their 30s with learning disabilities. One gentleman has cerebral palsy, and the other has well-managed epilepsy. These two gents are fun-loving and thrive on social interaction. Their interests include:

• Explorative Gent: Loves exploring nature, going on long walks, and collecting sticks along the way.
• Vibrant Gent: Enjoys social activities, such as attending musicals, parties, and visiting places like zoos and aquariums.
Although neither uses words to communicate, they express themselves clearly through sounds, gestures, and expressions. Patience and attentiveness are key to understanding their needs. Home 2: In this home, you'll work with two gentlemen in their 40s and 50s, both living with autism and epilepsy.
• Independent Gent One is very independent and enjoys spending time with friends, dancing, bowling, and singing (he's a big ABBA fan!).
• Social Gent The other gentleman, while requiring more support due to changing needs, still loves social outings and dining out with friends and staff.
Home 3: This home supports three energetic gentlemen in their 30s and 40s, each with unique passions:
• Artistic Gent: A creative artist who loves drawing and playing PlayStation.
• Outgoing Gent: A social butterfly who enjoys dancing, bowling, and dining out.
• Active Gent : A fan of classic TV shows like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, who also loves going to the gym and attending football matches.
Across all three homes, you'll be helping the gents live fulfilling, independent lives while supporting their personal goals. Whether it's socialising, enjoying activities, or spending time with family, you'll make a real impact. What Will You Be Doing? As a Support Worker, you'll be playing a crucial role in enriching the lives of these individuals by:
• Empowering Independence: Provide varying levels of personal care and support with daily living, including meal preparation, feeding, and encouraging independence where possible.
• Activity Engagement: Join in on their favourite activities, whether it's a long walk, a trip to a restaurant, a dance night, or a game of bowling. You'll be helping to create fun, fulfilling experiences every day.
• Positive Communication: Help individuals express themselves, even if they don't use words, by being attentive, patient, and using effective communication.
• Health and Well-Being: Support with medication administration and ensure a safe, healthy environment at all times.
• Relationship Building: Develop meaningful connections with the individuals and their families, ensuring their needs are always at the heart of your care.
Shifts Patterns:
• Day Shifts: 7am - 2:30pm
• Day Shifts: 2:30pm - 10pm
