- Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans.
- You will work with a wide range of customers with individual support needs (From mental health, learning disabilities, older people, younger people and complex needs).
- Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able.
- Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
- Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There's no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to work together with colleagues too. - Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail.
- Experience of caring for others, you may have worked in care before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children.
- Experience of working on own initiative, remaining calm under pressure, and having a resilient approach
- Recognise every customer is different and you're able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs.
- You will be required to travel across County Teesside. Driver's licence and own vehicle is essential. We will support you with travel costs exceeding your base. Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This remains under regular review. Our team You'll join our outgoing team, full of diverse characters, who are all friendly, helpful, and supportive (great news for newbies!) The Team is led by Yvonne, who's worked for Home Group since 2014. Yvonne started as a Support Worker and took full advantage of all the training and experience we offer here at Home Group. Supporting her are our Clients Service Manager's, Libby, Tom, Shannon and Samina all having previous experience within Homegroup so are perfectly placed to support you as you join. Job details
- Working hours vary day to day. Shifts can start as early as 7:30am and some shifts can finish as late as 10:30pm. Average shift is 7.5 hours.
- You will be expected on occasion to work a sleep-in shift and potentially night shifts.
- Full time roles will be based on rota over a 5-week rolling pattern. For part time roles we are open to agreeing a working pattern with you.
- We do get together regularly every 5 weeks for a team meeting to discuss any updates and catch up with our colleagues.
- Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
- You will need to be able to drive and hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle insured for business purposes, this is an essential requirement of this role.
