Full Job Description

We are looking for a support worker to join us and provide support to a kind and caring gentleman within their home and the wider community. The person we support enjoys Disney, music, theatre and going to the cinema as well as for drives and walks to explore; it would be an advantage if the successful application shares one of these common interests.

We are looking for someone who has a calm and relaxing demeanour who can demonstrate these qualities in this role. Due to the support being in someone's home it is key that you are respectful of the person's privacy as they do enjoy spending periods of time by themselves.

This is a part time role for between 22.5-30hrs per week.

You should be available to work a long day shift including sleep-ins throughout the week and alternate weekends.

So if you enjoy building meaningful relationships and think you could plan, communicate and deliver support with and alongside people, then this is the place for you.

Ability to commute/relocate: LE67 - You must be able to reliably commute for shift start times or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Affinity Trust does not presently hold a Sponsorship Licence and while this status is reviewed regularly there is no present proposal to apply for such a Licence.

Why Join Us?

What will we do?

We will train you in everything you need to be a great Support Worker. We will apply and pay for your enhanced DBS, and we have a mentorship scheme in place to provide support and guide you on your journey with us.

We offer Wagestream - a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, access to coaching, vouchers, discounts, cashback and more.

You will be entitled to annual leave with the ability to buy additional leave.

Fully funded health cash plans giving you access to a 24 hour GP, money back on prescriptions, dental treatment, opticians and access to many more health benefits.

We provide a package of benefits that make it that bit easier to be your best and we can also support you to achieve a Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care and pursue a career that takes on more responsibility.

What will you do?

Supporting people is really important but it's not all cinema trips and walks. We also support people to take their medication, assist with personal care, make healthy lifestyle choices and maintain their home in a way that they feel safe, well and happy.

It sounds exciting to say no two days will be the same, but in support, sometimes they are. Sometimes people like routine and struggle with change… But when you support someone to try something new - what a feeling!

Are you a compassionate, caring and understanding person? Are you able to quickly adapt to changing situations and provide quick on-the-spot thinking?

And patience. Do you have patience and empathy?, Disability Confident
