Full Job Description

As a Supportability Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary, working on the production of the requirements for the upkeep of Royal Navy Submarines.

Day-to-day, you'll be working as part of the Requirements Planning Team, facilitating technical support and oversight across multiple work packages and engineering disciplines for the maintenance of naval nuclear submarines:

  • Coordination and collaboration of requirements to deliver a Submarine safe back to sea

  • Customer liaison both internal and external

  • Management of change throughout the delivery of work


  • This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

  • Experience of working within an engineering environment

  • Diligent with an understanding of engineering documentation and ensure compliance with processes

  • Methodical, have a keen eye for detail

  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Able to prioritise, and work on your own initiative with a flexible attitude, Minimum HNC / BTEC (Level 5) in a relevant STEM discipline or with demonstrable experience in a relevant engineering field

  • Having achieved incorporated Engineer (IENG) or working towards registration with an appropriate engineering institution would also be advantageous.


  • Security Clearance
    The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
