Full Job Description
Our primary school in Waltham Forest is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant (TA) to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Join our inclusive team and help provide a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Role Overview: As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND. You'll work alongside the class teacher to assist in planning and delivering lessons and interventions that are tailored to each student's individual needs.,
- Provide in-class support to students with SEND, both in groups and on a one-to-one basis.
- Help students with their academic work, social development, and emotional well-being.
- Assist the teacher in adapting lesson materials and resources to suit individual learning needs.
- Support students with tasks during lessons, ensuring active participation.
- Monitor students' progress and report back to the class teacher and parents.
- Help with classroom management and promoting positive behaviour.
Previous experience working with children, preferably in a SEND setting. - A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with students.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A willingness to support students in their learning journey and adapt to their individual needs.
