Full Job Description

AWE is currently recruiting for a Warhead Surety Engineer to join the Enhanced Nuclear Safety Team where a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists develop new technologies and products to enhance the Surety (Safety, Security and Dependability) of current and future product systems.

This role is ideally suited to an engineer or scientist with both theoretical and extensive practical experience, who enjoys solving complex technical problems to progress novel conceptual/prototype technologies into mature products.

Working within the Warhead Engineering Surety Group the successful candidate will be required to undertake frequent visits to both UK and overseas delivery partners.

· A strong degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Science related discipline.

· An understanding of Systems Engineering methods and techniques.

· A willingness to travel both in the UK and overseas.

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:

· Requirements capture and product specification.

· Functional verification & validation testing/trials.

· Mechanical engineering & design (including CAD, engineering analysis & drawing).

· High pressure system design.

· Postgraduate degree such as MSc, MEng, and PhD.

· Manufacturing techniques.

· Materials properties and selection.

Package: £37,860 - £55,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience), · 9-day working fortnight - meaning you get every other Friday off work, in addition to 270 hours of annual leave.
