Full Job Description

The Surrey Safeguarding Adult Board (SSAB) is dedicated to helping and protecting adults in Surrey who have care and support needs and who are experiencing, or are at risk of, abuse or neglect. We ensure there are effective processes in place to prevent and respond to abuse and neglect, raise awareness among the public and professionals about the importance of adult safeguarding, and ensure that those working with adults have the right skills to safeguard them. As the Board Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the SSAB's mission. Employed by the Council, you will enjoy a high level of autonomy, working closely with the SSAB's Independent Chair and Executive Members. As the Surrey Safeguarding Board Manager you will:

  • Provide direction and support to the SSAB's sub-groups
  • Manage a small, dedicated team
  • Oversee the development and management of the SSAB's website and social media
  • Develop training programmes and resources
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the national SAB network
  • Your work in this role will directly contribute to safeguarding adults in Surrey, ensuring they are protected from abuse and neglect.   • Experience of working within a multi-agency setting and effective partnership working
  • A good knowledge of safeguarding legislation and process
  • Experience of setting and delivering priorities within a business planning framework
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective prioritisation ability to manage several workstreams simultaneously
  • Ability to write, edit and review policy and procedures
  • A willingness to embrace training on a coaching approach to management and supervision

    The starting salary for this permanent, full-time position is £52,047 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
  • Surrey Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) is excited to be seeking a proactive and dedicated Board Manager to ensure the work of our multi-agency partnership is managed effectively.
