Full Job Description

To project manage from works identification through to completion, including planning, co-ordination, monitoring and control and resident and contractor engagement, so as to secure effective outcomes which meet the Council's objectives, as a social housing landlord., The post holder reports to the Disrepair & Special Projects Manager

The post holder has budget monitoring responsibility for a programme of responsive & capital improvement projects to around £ 1 million p.a.

The post holder may be required to work evenings, weekends and occasional public holidays, in order to meet service requirements and specifically to carry out consultation and representational tasks with residents and other stakeholders, and to provide cover for emergencies.

To ensure an efficient and effective technical support service for Housing Property Services, covering specialist services such as disrepair, insurance claims, and customer care.

To ensure a programme of Health & Safety inspections is undertaken, including evaluating findings and ensuring any works necessary are carried out.

To monitor and manage disrepair and other legal casework. To liaise with legal representatives and maintain dialogue with other departments, and represent the organization in litigation.

The role requires to be resourced to degree-level qualification in building or relevant construction based professional qualification and/or extensive experience of Disrepair works in a social housing environment., Experience of dealing with Building Regulations, disrepair, HHSRS and Health & Safety legislation is essential.

Experience of building inspection work, identifying faults, preparing reports/specifications is essential.

Experience of successfully running contracts/projects is essential.

Essential Qualification Required:

Formal training in one or more of the following areas: building technology/construction, repairs, estimating, contractual matters is essential.

The qualification at the level of a degree, HND, or HNC is essential.
