This position requires a deep understanding of ESG principles, exceptional
customer management skills, and the ability to deliver customised solutions that align with the customer's goals and regulatory requirements. Our commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) excellence sets us apart in the industry.We are seeking a dedicated Sustainability Consultantto join our team, focusing on providing exceptional ESG support to one of our largest infrastructure customers. This position requires a deep understanding of ESG principles, exceptional customer management skills, and the ability to deliver customised solutions that align with the customer's goals and regulatory requirements. Delivering purpose-led and measurable outcomes on projects.Customer Relationship ManagementServe as the primary ESG liaison for the customer and Speedy operational team, ensuring their needs and
expectations are met.Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key client stakeholders.A technical expert promoting innovation in areas of sustainability, such as energy and carbon, nature, responsible sourcing, modern slavery and human rights and Social Value.With the support of the wider ESG Team provide specialist advice and guidance on all aspects of sustainability performance, including but not limited to, Net Zero Carbon, Social Value (community investment and engagement, charitable partnerships, volunteering Programmes, employment, skills and training, apprenticeships, school engagement, community safety and social inclusion), Nature Positive, and facilitate the implementation of strategies.Being aware of customer and market needs to evolve and maintain necessary competencies.Sustainability Initiatives and ImplementationEnsure alignment of Sustainability initiatives with the customer's business objectives and industry standards.Prepare, monitor, and deliver
sustainability initiatives that have been identified, supporting both Speedy and the customer in achieving. Providing progress reports throughout the yearUtilise Speedy's ESG tools & software to report KPI's to the customer and internally to the wider business on ESG contract performanceSupport and advise the customer on technical subjects such as ISO 14001, PAS 2080 or similar collaborating closely with their internal ESG team.Deliver contract PAS2080:2023 conformity aligned to Speedy Hires carbon management systemEnsure the client's team is well-equipped to implement and sustain these initiativesFacilitate stakeholder engagement sessions and workshops for the client.Sustainability IntegrationAdvise the customer on integrating sustainability practices into their operations and promoting the use of eco products.Performance Monitoring and ReportingTrack and report on Sustainability performance metrics specific to the customer's projects and operations.Prepare detailed reports
and presentations for the customer, highlighting progress and areas for improvement.Risk ManagementIdentify ESG-related risks and opportunities for the customer.Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.Promote the adoption of sustainable materials, technologies, and processes.Speedy Hire is committed to treating rightsholders with respect and dignity. Speak Up Process (whistleblowing)Ambassador for SpeedyEngage with external stakeholders, industry associations, and regulatory bodies to contribute to industry-wide sustainability initiatives and represent Speedy's interests.Knowledge, skills and experience requiredProficiency in project management and organisational skills with ability to manage own workload to ensure delivery of deliverables on time and to budget, displaying attention to detail and confidence.Knowledge of ESG principles, frameworks, standards, regulations, and legislationExcellent understanding of the regulatory landscape and ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks, ensuring compliance and proactive engagement.Degree level qualification science-based topic, economics, or sustainability and preferably a member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or equivalent with a strong technical understanding all ESG mattersDesirable:Experience in Sustainability , ideally
