Full Job Description

Coordinate a comprehensive programme of on campus activity, supported by online initiatives, to engage staff and students on sustainability issues.
Effectively use a variety of communication channels to raise awareness, educate and influence staff and students to make more sustainable choices.
Collaborate with colleagues across the University, as well as internal and external networks and partners, to assess the needs of staff and student groups and create targeted actions to engage them
Establish effective strategies to promote participation in engagement programmes.
Lead volunteers to develop and implement successful programmes that achieve positive outcomes., The Sustainability Team at the University of Salford leads the development and implementation of the University Sustainability Strategy and is made up of the Sustainability Office and the Environmental Sustainability Team. The Sustainability Office has responsibility for the holistic sustainability strategy and works with teams across the whole University embed sustainability. The Environmental Sustainability Team based in Estates have responsibility for delivering the Sustainability Strategy across our campus operations.

We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate individual to join the University's sustainability team as Sustainability Engagement Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to join an impactful team delivering real change in driving the University Sustainability Strategy and Net Zero Carbon commitment.

Working alongside colleagues in the Sustainability Team you will lead the development and delivery of sustainability related communication and engagement activities with students, colleagues and external audiences.

To succeed in this role, you should be a self-motivated, organised and enthusiastic person with a firm commitment to sustainability. Ideally your broad range of knowledge and experience of sustainability issues, and creative flair for communication and engagement will enable you to motivate others to engage with our programmes.
