Full Job Description

The main objective of this role will be to support the UK Sustainability National Representative team with delivering key UK strategic sustainability projects and ensuring wide engagement of the Airbus functions and divisions on sustainability topics.

The projects may include scoping new sustainability or community projects and partnerships for us, data gathering and analysis for implementation of environmental topics, delivering communications and engagement sessions like Sustainability week events or community impact projects with local or national NGOs, thinking proactively about ways to engage our employees on the sustainability journey.

On top of having direct access to all there is to know about Sustainability at Airbus and connecting with our Corporate Sustainability department in our Headquarters in Toulouse, you will have an opportunity to develop:

  • How to turn sustainability into practice and embed it in company culture;

  • Communication and coordination skills in a multi-functional, multi-site/divisional setting;

  • Project management and leadership skills;

  • Data management and analysis;

  • strategy and commercial awareness.

    Studying towards a degree in Sustainability, an Environmental field, or equivalent;

  • Be proactive and not afraid to take initiative;

  • Ability to influence and engage with people and teams;

  • Strong communication skills;

  • Interest or experience in organization and planning of events or team building activities., This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

    You will be working as part of the Airbus UK Sustainability department, driving the development of our company Sustainability strategy across our sites and divisions in the UK. Sustainability is an integral part of our purpose and an essential part of our future success as a business so you will be part of a team where corporate strategy is translated into operational plans and coordinated via a multiplicity of national and site based functions.


  • The Sustainability National Representatives Network is a worldwide network, present in all the nations and regions where Airbus operated and it has been created to drive locally the establishment and development of:
  • A robust regulatory monitoring and compliance system across all sites and divisions;

  • An environmental management system in line with our ISO14001 environmental certification;

  • A cultural mindset change to ensure that Sustainability matters are embedded in all that we do;

  • Several company-wide roadmaps targeted at the achievement of our Top Company Objectives, namely:

  • + Our own footprint - Energy/CO2, water, waste, air emissions reduction from our operations;
    + Our product footprint - Sustainable Aviation Fuels and hydrogen systems development;
    + Our use of chemical substances - reduction or substitution of harmful chemicals in line with UK / EU regulations;

    Salary: £21,900
