If so, we're looking for someone to carry forward our green mission as the interim Sustainability Manager at Restaurant Associates We believe catering can be delicious and sustainable. We're on a mission to transform the way we source, serve, and dispose of food-minimising waste, reducing our carbon footprint, and creating lasting partnerships with suppliers who share our values. As our maternity cover Sustainability Manager, you'll play a crucial role in keeping these efforts thriving, helping us deliver unforgettable culinary experiences with a conscience. What You'll Do:

  • Green Strategy & Innovation: Drive our existing sustainability initiatives and work with our teams to meet ambitious goals for eco-friendly catering.
  • Sustainable Sourcing: Continue partnerships with responsible suppliers to bring local, organic, and seasonal ingredients to the table.
  • Waste Warrior: Lead our food waste reduction efforts and maintain recycling and composting practices across operations.
  • Energy Efficiency: Support energy-saving practices and water usage reduction strategies, making every event as eco-friendly as possible.
  • Packaging Pioneer: Oversee eco-friendly packaging solutions, phasing out single-use plastics and embracing compostable, reusable options.
  • Engagement & Advocacy: Inspire clients, partners, and our team to stay committed to sustainable practices, showcasing our efforts in every interaction.

    Recent graduate of a degree related to the Environment & Sustainability
  • Knowledge and passion for sustainability including subject matter expertise.
  • Confident in communicating to large groups of people and controlling challenging meetings/conversations.
  • Work experience in the foodservice industry would be welcomed.
  • Must be willing to travel and stay away from home occasionally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates Compass values and recognition principles
  • Ability to quickly gain credibility with key stakeholder groups
  • Professional, organised, presentable, efficient and self-motivated
  • A passion for keeping up to date with research and national health events
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to manage a busy diary independently.
