Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within ELFT to help the Trust meet its challenging carbon and waste reduction commitments as part of the drive towards net zero. This role represents the key relationship between the Trust head office function and all sites across London, Bedford and Luton.This is a professional role requiring excellent interpersonal skills and a positive and proactive attitude to delivering a high standard of service. There are many varied aspects to this role, which include dealing with internal and external stakeholders, knowledge of energy and waste processes, contractor management, and taking responsibility for collection, analysis and reporting of a variety of information. Also a requirement for more formalised documentation analysis and creation around legislation. The role will be the link between site managers and contacts and the Assistant Director of Estates. An ability to work flexibly, on own and as part of a team is very important while always ensuring
that work carried out is in line with the Trust's commitment to net zero by 2040. There will be a large focus on waste reduction and reducing our carbon footprint by improving current infrastructure.

Main duties of the job

Waste Management

Working across all Trust sites the main objective will be to assist the Trust with helping to implement waste reducing measures.

Reporting any waste issues to the estates internal help-desk or solving these issues on site with help of in house staff

Regular auditing of all three sites to ensure they are adhering to Trust Waste Strategy/Policy

The management of waste statistics for ERIC (Estates Return Information Collection) and cost saving measures

Working closely with waste contractor to ensure staff training and best practice is followed

Contractor monitoring and management to ensure quality of service

Keep up to date records of all contractor health and safety and personnel information. Including competencies and certification

Requirement for some heavy equipment use as part of the waste audits

Occasional interaction with service users as part of waste audits across wards and sites
